 We find Emily sitting on the couch in her new plaster minerva that she’ll have for the next six months. She’s uncomfortable and distraught. She whines and complains to herself, unable to get comfortable on the couch. She gets up and go to the kitchen for a drink. She wanders around the house, wondering what to do with herself, then tries getting comfortable on the floor with some pillows. Trying to get back up makes her feel like a turtle on it’s back, as her cast is very heavy. Emily tries to go outside and enjoy a snack, but that ends in tears. Another time, she wants to try laying out in the back yard to get some sun but there’s a heatwave and it’s not a pleasant experience so she gives up on it. To make things worse, she steps on a bee on the way back inside. Later she takes a nap in her adjustable bed and wakes up feeling good for a change. She calls a friend and updates her on how horrible of a time she’s been having in her minerva this summer. On another day Emily calls someone else trying to find someone to take her out of the house. She puts on her shoes and socks and heads out. Next, it’s POV and Emily gets in the passenger seat of the car and fastens her seatbelt. The first stop is the Mexican restaurant where she orders her own food as we watch from a table. She gets her order and takes her tray to the drink station to get some water. At the table, she manages to eat and drink a bit by herself but drops her drink and makes a mess, which is upsetting for her. A kind employee sees this and gives her a new cup immediately. After that, we help Emily eat more of her food by feeding it to her. Stay tuned for more of this adventure! |
